Included are Directions for Use:
1. Remove the complete plunger unit and add fresh medium ground coffee to the beaker. As a guide, look for the Cafetiere symbol to ensure that the correct grind is used. Coffee can be brewed according to taste; however we recommend one heaped dessertspoon per normal cup size. For example, in an 8 Cup Cafetiere you would use 6 heaped dessertspoons - since the capacity is either 8 demitasse cups, or 6 coffee cups or 4 mugs.
2. Fill the beaker to a level just below the spout with water which is 'just off the boil'. Water slightly blow boiling gives a better flavour to the coffee. Stir the grounds with a wooden spoon (a metal spoon could scratch or crack the beaker). This ensure that all the grounds are immersed fully.
3. Replace the plunger unit on top of the beaker and most importantly wait. It is best to allow the ground to steep for a minimum of 4 minutes.
4. Push the plunger down slowly,whilst holding the handle and with the spout pointing away from you. The grounds are then trapped under the filter and the coffee is ready to be served. Never force the plunger down. If it is difficult, raise the plunger slightly and push down again gently. If pushing down the plunger is often difficult, then check your coffee grind, it may be too fine.
5. Serve immediately. The Cafetiere brews the perfect cup of gourmet coffee ready to enjoy immediately.
